Exclamation Enterprise Activations stuck at xx% - why can't users understand - 07-25-2008, 08:26 AM

I searched high and low in RIM Technical Solution Center and found non KB article that explains the external factors that caused Enterprise Activation to stuck. All I can find is KB13852 - Identifying and troubleshooting enterprise activation issues - one that states the technical aspects from the BES product perspective itself only, when all other things (e.g. good internal network with no latency, super healthy BES and mail servers, good signal coverage - as if the whole wireless network serves that just one particular fussy VIP user) being constant.

RIM will really help to complete explaining another aspect of this stupid issue and can really save us all BESAdmins' explanation to the simply "stubborn, stupid and never-ever-able-to-understand" end-users. In my many attempts to explain why EA is stuck at certain %, many times they were told that these factors can potentially caused a slow activation:-

(1) internal LAN issues
(2) mail server load issues
(3) BES server load issues
(4) wireless service provider's network issues
(5) signal strength of the wireless network on the location of activation
(6) corrupted mail files
(7) and many more etc. etc. blah blah.

Always advised them only to activate during off-peak hours so that the activation will not contend with redirection and synchronization activities of our active BlackBerry users. They just love to do it when everybody is busy sending and receiving email messages and when they are stuck, in comes the call, shoot comes the complaining email. They just keep complaining, complaining, complaining.... forever WITHOUT wanting to understand what they have been educated.

So RIM, please. Please do update your KB13852 with these external factors and save us the talkings. It can be very tiring explaining the same thing over and over again.

Thanks to all here for listening (or rather reading) my woes. Stream let off.
