Just trying to update one of our BES boxes to SP6 (currently v4.1.4.15) but during the DB upgrade we get the following error.

"an attempt to upgrade the database was unsucessful. An error occured while executing an SQL statement"

Installer log shows this,

Anyone seem that before? Or any ideas how to view the jobs in the DB so i can remove the other?

yup i saw that KB article earlier but i dont have a .bak file in that folder already and i dont get that error in the logs at all.

This page has the suggested fixes in but none seem to work. Problem seems to be caused because the machine has been renamed after it was installed.

pretty sure its the error but fix isn't quite working for me yet.

I have two jobs called 'RIMPurgeHistoryBESMgmt'. I can delete the one, but when i try to delete the other i get

Cannot add, update, or delete a job (or its steps or schedules) that originated
from an MSX server.

If i look at the jobs, its originating_server value is set to the old server name (which no longer exists) which is why i'm guessing i can't remove the job. That articles suggestion is to rename the server back to the old name, remove the job and then rename the server again. Something i'm reluctant to do.

Is there anyway to change the originating_server value with some sql so that i can then remove the job?

all sorted now actually. managed to change the jobs to point back to the proper server name and delete a couple of troublesome jobs and the updates just gone through.
