Hi,

I'm currently trying to wirelessly activate a client's Blackberry Curve with no success.

I have assigned an activation password, which the user has entered on their device and started the process, the activation email sent from the RIM servers hit the users mailbox... but that is where the process has stopped, a good 8/9 hours have passed but the user is still showing as Initializing via the Manager.

Previously I've provisioned devices at the server via USB, however this client is based in the US, I'm based in the UK so that is out of the question this time.

Can you shed some light on my problem?

Does the activation email sit in the inbox?
It should disappear.
It's normally down to permissions.
Have you looked in the logs? Or tried connecting the device up to the server and assigned the device instead; if permissions aren't correct might get an error message.

Just to add to the post, this is the log entry that's being thrown up, I've managed to find a number of posts referring to similar issues, although in a lot of cases people have resorted to a wired activation...

All that it means is that it hasn't been activated yet.
Is this the first user on this BES or have you got others on it?
Try the IEMS test to test permissions.

There's currently two others (down from seven) on the server (although they were provisioned by wire).

IEMSTest completes sucessfully on the users mailbox.

Reboot your BES - usually does the trick for me when ALL other factors are the same (same Exchange server, same mailbox database, same BES server).

It's always the small things... the tariff wasn't provisioned for BES.

excellent....I thought you had already checked that but I re-read your first post and saw you said provisioned via USB.
When it doesn't activate it's normally down to provisioning, permissions or activation email being altered by anti-virus software.
