I currently have 2 BES servers (4.1.4, Exchange 2003) in our environment sharing a SQL 2000 database. I'm going to upgrade to SP6 in the next few weeks. My question is should I follow the same directions for a general service pack installation (BlackBerry Search Results)?

I planned on stopping the services, etc. on each BES and complete the upgrade 1 at a time. Any suggestions or things I should be prepared for?

Make a back up of registry on both machines and DB before upgradeing.

Just applied Sp6 to same environment as that described (2 BESs at 4.1.4 sharing a common database, albeit SQL2005). No errors at all once I'd deleted the mdss and mdss_dis databases.

Thanks for the info. Any more details on having to delete the databases?

I believe the mdss and mdss_dis databases are used if you are pushing apps to the BBs. I upgraded two different BES domains with SP6 and on 1 upgrade I had to deleted the mdss databases and on the other upgrade the mdss databases upgraded fine. Currently, I am not pushing apps to my BBs only surfing via the MDS. my upgrade with just fine other than that.

We are on BES 4.1.4.15 with Exchanges 2003 SP2 and are looking to go to SP6 for BES do I need to install any of the previous service packs or can I jump to SP6.
Are there any specific steps that I need to take before performing this upgrade?

SP are cumulative so go straight to sp6.
