Here is an e-mail I recieved from an employee in regards to a BES setting. Does anybody have any insight on this?



Frequently, when I visit a web site that has a link to a large file, and click to download it (to my SD card), I get an error on my BB that says something like "request too large."
This is irrelavent of browser (BB or Opera) or site. The only common thing I can see is that the file referenced is bigger than a meg.

So RIM suggested asking if there was a setting on the BES.

Is there?

are you using MDS for your BB browsing ? how about using Internet browser on BB device? only way a BES setting can possibally have an affect is when user is using BB browser or MDS browser from BB device

He's using the BlackBerry browser, not sure about MDS. How does the BES effect that?

The Blackberry browser tunnels the traffic through the BES. The BES has a max transfer amount of 1mb per connection. You need to use the internet browser to bypass it.

The 1mb limit sucks and is totally useless. I have no idea why it is still in place. Hopefully it will be removed in 5.0.
