Default mapi32.dll version problems on BES

Please Login to Remove!

I seem to be having difficulty in getting my mapi32.dll version to match what is on our Exchange 2003 server. The BES previously had Outlook installed on it. I uninstalled Outlook and loaded the Exchange Server MAPI client and CDO 1.2.1. Everything appears to install fine. The CDO.dll is the same as our Exchange server but the MAPI32.dll doesn't appear to be updated. It is still an older version. I have tried to unregister and register the DLL with no luck. I keep getting an error the states "mapi32.dll ws loaded but DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file can not be unregistered/registered. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Uninstall mapi client 1.2.1 and search and delete mapi32.dll. If BES had previously Outlook installed how did it work? If I were you I'd do rebuilt from scratch.

I would uninstall the MAPI/CDO client and install the Exchange 2003 ESM and if your Exchange Server is SP2, install that as well so that MAPI32.dll updates.

Personally, I would only use the MAPI/CDO client if you have Exchange 2007.

rule number 1 never install outlook client onto the same server as the bes or exchange.

Easiest way to keep exchange and bes in line with each other. Everytime you install a hotfix onto exchange install the same hotfix onto the bes. (including those hotfixes that update mapi and cdo
