Just found out we can not open docx or xlsx files (2007). We are on BES 4.1.5.26 which is supposed to handle Office 2007 files?

BES 4.1.6
BB 8320 4.5

I can view both .DOC and .DOCX, but I'm unable to use Documents To Go, to edit the .DOCX files. I can edit .DOC.

And of course, we're migrating to Office 2007 and will be using the .DOCX format.

Thank you RIM, once again I have egg on my face, having sold management on this great new feature.

Are they native Word and Excel 2007 files or saved as Word and Excel 2003 files. BES 4.1.4 and above supports MS Office 2007 but not when MS Word 2007 documents are saved as Microsoft Word 2003.

so would you suggest to get veryone on the 2007 format, saving as 2007 extensions? we have the majority of users on 2003, a few on 2007, saving as a 2003 file, so they are backards compatible for my users....if I go straight to 4.1.6, and have everyone on 2007 save as .docx and .xlsx, my BB users can read them? Right now Ive got nothing

Users with Office 2007 should save in 2007 format. Users with Office 2003 should install the "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats".

Download details: Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats
