Arrow Folder Redirection -- Deleted Items

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

Background: BES 4.3 testing (not in production); BlackBerry being introduced for first time to our company; Currently end-users using Treos via Good.

Question: In the Folder Redirection area, the Deleted Items check box is "dashed" out meaning it will not allow synching to/from the mailbox. I asked our Admin if it can be made available (because i suspect our users will want to have these deleted emails available just as they are now with their Treos).

The Admin said "no, deleted items can not be synched by design, and there is no way to allow it to sync".

His answer made me curious, thus I ask you all: Is the design he is talking about the Product BES Design or our internal Design?

Is it not possible at all for deleted items to synch between handheld and mailbox? And if it is, how difficult is it to setup the synch for Deleted Items?

If the users want to view the deleted items they can set the option in meesages "Hide Filed Messages to NO" this will then show you all messages even the deleted ones.

By RIM BES design the BlackBerry is set not to store deleted messages to conserve space on the device. There is no way to change this.

You *can* however with BES 4.1 SP6 use Remote Search and pull back any message even those in your deleted folder.

I believe OS 4.5 is needed though. Pretty cool.

I cant wait to play with remote search... I think this is going to help a lot of ppl because almost every one of my users wants to have all of outlook on the BB. Well now they can just use remote search and find what they are looking for! W00T!
