After we move a mailbox from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007 the BESAdmin account is unable to access the mailbox. I receive the openmsgstore failed error.
I have looked at the permissions on the 2007 server and they are correct.
The interesting thing is that if I delete the account from the exchange 2007 server and recreate it, everything works fine. All newly created users on the 2007 Exch server work great.
WE are only having a problem with mailboxes that get moved from exchange 2003.
I have tried the handheldcleaup.exe -u executable which seems to have no affect.

If anyone can help me I wouldrather not have to re-activate all 30 of my berrys.

Where is the BES admin mailbox located? It should be on Exchange 2007.
Did you update the MAPI/CDO components on the BES server? You should always use the version that matches your latest Exchange version - in your case 2007.

You should only have to restart the BES Services when a mailbox is moved on the same Exchange server. Handgeldcleanup should do the trick for this, but like the OP said he is seeing openmsgstore failed messages. This means that the BES knows the mailbox is moved but cannot access it.

Sounds like an issue with the move. What are you using to move the mailboxes? If you are using XMerge or Quest then this is your issue. Those tools ignore the hidden BB folder in their mailbox, rendering the users useless until they are removed/readded.

If that's not the case then I'm not really sure.

You mentioned Quest and the other tool did not. Do you know of one that does move the BB info?

The built-in Microsoft mailbox move utility should do the trick fine. Quest and X-Merge are the only two that I've heard of people using besides the built-in, and they cause issues.

If you are not using the built-in to move mailboxes, try it and see if you get better results.
