Curve IMAP 'read' flag seems one way
When I read an IMAP message on my blackberry Curve, I can easily see that a few moment later it is flagged as read in Outlook. But the reverse doesn't seem to happen. If I read my imap emails on the computer first, then pick up the Blackberry, then, well, the emails are all there but not flagged as read as they should be. Any ideas why?

Couild it be the version of the BES server, Or is it more liklely the ISP's implementaion of IMap?

Ensure that your Email Reconciliation settings are set correctly.

You should have:

Delete On: Mailbox and Handheld
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins
Reconcile: On

This is not a ISP IMAP issue, this a BES/Exchange thing with MAPI. First check your settings, correct any that are wrong and test. Only new emails will show correctly, old emails will not update.

The curve itself says
message service: XXXXXcom
Delete on: Prompt
Wireless Reconcile: on
On Conflict: Mailbox wins

Heck I looked at the PIM Synch part of the BES, which says:
syncronization enable: true
enabled on device: true
syncronization type: bidirectional
conflict resolution: server wins

So I'm thinking those settings are fine.

Today if I accidently leave my blackberry at home and use Outlook exclusively to check/Read/Reply my IMAP mail, then I would unfortunetaly find tons of unread mail tonight when I get the BB off my dresser. Most of it will be mail I read with Outlook, but the Blackberry will not have flagged as read. Is this what you would expect?

Change your Message Service to Desktop[CMIME], then turn the wireless reconcile off, save it, turn it back on and save it again.

Then send yourself a new mail, read it Outlook and doa reconcile now from the device. See if it updates on the BB.

If not, try deleting the Desktop[CMIME] service book, resend it from the BES and check your Reconciliation options once more and test again.

I went to options-advanced-default services and I see:
Messaging (CMIME): Desktop

I can change it to the name of my IMAP provider but I dont think thats what you are suggesting.

How common is it for service books to get corrupted?
