Default How log for BES to see new users?

How long does it take BES for GW to see new GW users?

I just added a couple of users to eDirectory/GroupWise and BES is not finding them when I try to add them.

Thanks,

I think we've added some new users on the fly in the past by re-syncing the system address book (Bes>server config>service control & customization>sync system adbk). That will load the BES pretty good during the sync so be aware. New users should pick up overnight w/o manual sync if you can wait. We have 45k accounts and it took around 1.5hr to complete during peak hours. You may be able to restart gwconnect.exe to pick up the new users but I've not tested that.

Wow that sucks, only takes seconds here.

Why does it take so long in GW?

The delay is a function of how you add users. RIM decided to use the system address book as the method of adding accounts in 4.1.x. In 4.0, we could pull them out of any address book we wanted, so we had a Blackberry address book in the native GW account on the server. We would just move the user out of the system address book into this native book as needed. That is no longer an option. The BES resyncs the system wide address book nightly only. It's more convenient now as we can skip the moving user step, but less convenient for new users in a 24 hour period.
