Default Enterprise Activation Question

Please Login to Remove!

When a user's device is wiped and reloaded to the BES through Enterprise Activation, the amount of previous emails that are reloaded to their device is different for every user. Some user's may have previous emails dating back to 4 weeks, while some only date back 1 to 2 days. Why does it not reload the emails back to a specific date for every user?

5 days or up to 200 messages worth of emails will pre-populate by default. You can extend it to 14 days and 750 msgs in BES4.1.

It loads a specific number of days OR number of emails. Whichever comes first.

So if someone gets a LOT of email, then they won't get as many day's worth of emails.

Ok, that makes sense. Thank you for the help. I'm fairly new to being a BES admin and there's a lot I need to learn about it.

My advice is search before posting as this question was asked at least dozen times in a past couple of months.

Thanks. I'll do a little more searching before I post from now on.

I do have another question in regards to this problem, but I couldn't find an answer through the search.

I just activated a user to the BES after the device was wiped. This time it didn't reload any messages, not even messages from today. Why would it not load any previous messages at all?

If this question has been answered in a previous post and I missed the link I apologize.

Yes, it's been answered in many previous posts.

Message pre-population only occurs for a newly added user to the BES, or an existing user with a new PIN/Device.

An existing user reactivating the same device will not get message pre-pop.

...unless you also remove and readd the user on the BES.
