Default Moving BES to another Windows Domain

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We've changed the Windows Domain which our Blackberry Server is joined to.

All seems to work. However, I noticed we have double references, 1 reference for the old domain and 1 reference for the new domain.
Is there any way of removing the old domain references just for cleanliness?

We are just about to migrate our BES 4.0.7 to a new domain and cant find any documentation on this.

We have already established the 2 way trust and in the process of setting up the new exchange 2003 server. Could you let me know how you migrated the blackberry server across to a new domain, the steps taken and any issues? Any documentations on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

One important thing I need to ask is if you are going to a new Exchange Org. If you are then you need to re-install your BES with a new DB and reactivate the devices. BES cannot work between Exchange Orgs, the DB does not support it, neither does Microsoft as far as I know.

If not, then you should be able to perform a knife edge cutover to the machine in the new domain.

Essentially you need 2 way trust between domains and BESAdmin needs correct permissions on the other Exchange Server.

That's it pretty much, it's not a hard switch, it's all in the permissions.

Feel free to ask any questions.
