Default Delegate deleting boss' email; messages not removed from boss' BB

Please Login to Remove!

Had a user send me this email today:

Quote:
A blackberry user just came back from vacation. He has a delegate configured in his Outlook. The delegate maintained his inbox during his absence. However, when he came back, all the emails that the delegate deleted from his Inbox are still on the BlackBerry. He tried to manually reconcile the emails on the BlackBerry but they are still there.
The delegate is accessing the manager's email from within her own Outlook account (just did an Add User and can see his account on the left as "Mailbox - Boss Man".

When she deletes, the emails are going into her trash, not his, which is why the BB is not reconciling those deletes.

However, we do have Hard Delete Support turned on, so wouldn't this be the same thing as the user himself just doing a Shift-Del on the email from his own account?

I know this doesn't answer your question but this KB article might help for the future. It'll place items deleted by the delegate into the owner's deleted items folder:

Items that are deleted from a shared mailbox go to the wrong folder in Outlook

Thanks, I'll look into that.

As for the Hard Delete support, I did confirm that it is working with other users/delegates just fine.

If it works for other users it should have worked for this one. Maybe a delete and resend of Desktop[CMIME] might do it.

Gotta love delegates. I always laughed whenever I got a call and the user would say "I'm a delegate to the Calendar/Inbox for my boss". RIM always had issues with delegates, it seems to be something not so easy to assimilate into.

I could just SHOOT RIM's T-Support right now.

I opened a case with them on this, and they resolved it by saying I needed to enable Hard Delete Support. I told them when I called that Hard Delete was already enabled and working for other users.

I replied to the auto-email notification about the 'resolved' case, and told them to reopen it. I then asked a question about the Message State database.

I received an email response to my question (same case#) and they again resolved the case saying that hard delete needed to be enabled.

I had to restrain myself when I called in to reopen the case.....

PM me any reps names you have gotten and I'll see about getting them b&#ch slapped and hopefully smarten them up

Obvious case of not ready case notes and/or prior emails. I hated that when I worked there, it takes 5 minutes to read the prior work and not re state something that is already done.

Send me the names so they can be smartened up a little bit.
