Hey all. Just a quick question for all you BB experts out there.

I have a user whom I just upgraded to a Curve from an 8700. She wanted to make sure that all her old folders would carry over to her new handheld, and they did. Once I gave her the new Blackberry she was complaining that many of her folders were empty and most didn't have all her emails in them.

Well... It turns out that she's storing a couple thousand emails in about 30 different folders. When I had deleted and re-added her account while troubleshooting, it had only populated it with the default 7 days of emails. So that's what she's got.

So right now I'm thinking if I REALLY want to get all her old emails onto the handheld, I'll need to go into each folder, move the emails (prior to the oldest one already on the device, to avoid duplicates) to a .pst file and then move them back to push them to the handheld.

My questions are: will this work, and is there an easier way?

We're running exchange 2007 and BB Manager 4.... okay I can't remember exactly which version but let me know if that makes a difference.

No that is not going to work. The only way to get them back on the device is to restore them from an IPD file backup. The only problem with that is any new emails she has got since then will not be on the device.

What you can tell her is that going foward with 4.5 HH code and 4.1.6 BES you can do a remote search on the blackberry and pull any missing messages to the blackberry so there is no more need to have all of the messages on the blackberry.

That I did not know. How do you do the remote search?
