A user contacted me, saying they were not able to send/receive mail on BB, although their Lotus Notes client works OK.
I checked my BES, and it keeps throwing up the following 2 lines for that one user:

21/08/2008 14:06:18 {UserName/Org} Mail Server CN=Server/OU=CA/O=Org failed over to CN=UKServer/O=Org
21/08/2008 14:06:18 {UserName/Org} Mail Server CN=UKServer/O=Org failed over to CN=Server/OU=CA/O=Org

The user has the CA server as his "home" server, as referenced in the Domino Directory. The user has a replica on the UKServer, but it is not referenced in names.nsf and I have no idea how BES is suddenly aware of it.

Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated. BES is 4.1.6, Domino is 7.0.3

Is the CA and UK servers in a Domino cluster? This would be the only reason BES would know.

The Failover message indicates that the BES has a problem to connect to the mailbox on the CA server. As other users are working on the CA server, have you checked the users ACL

The servers are not clustered. I did check the ACL and it is fine.

Upon checking, it seems that the user's journal was on the CA server (referenced on their user account) and their PAB was on the UK server. Once I pointed the PAB data at the CA replica, all was fine.

Apologies for the confusion... Seems Domino BES uses the "Mail Server ... Failed" message even when it is not referencing mail DB...
