Cool Move Users between servers in different Domino domains

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Our firm has a BES which I administer with the following details:
BES: 4.1.5
LN: 7.0.2FP1
OS: W2003SP2
Users: cca 850
Mailserver domains: 10

BES has 10 mailserver WAN connections from different trusted Domino domains, plus our country's local domain on LAN. The users are activated from these trusted countries on the server.

Now the problem: I need to migrate BES to another country to another domain. As far as I am informed so far, user moves can be possible only between servers in the same domain. I have installed a test environment and really: foreign domain server users cannot be imported.
Now it seems the only way to move the users by creating all the 850 accounts again and activate all devices on the new server

Do anyone has a better idea to perform this? I would greatly appreciate any tips

Default

Verify that the messaging server contains connection documents from the messaging servers in other domains from which it will replicate. This configuration facilitates message routing among foreign domains.
Verify that the messaging server has directory assistance turned on for every other domain. This setting is required for address lookup and message addressing.
To provide access control, add the IBM Lotus Domino messaging server to the LocalDomainServers group in every other domain.
Note: The BlackBerry Enterprise Server must have read access to the IBM Lotus Domino Directory and Manager's access to the mail files.

Cross-certification, at either a server or organization level, must be established between the IBM Lotus Domino messaging server and the messaging and directory servers in other domains. This configuration facilitates access from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to a messaging server in a foreign domain.
Verify that you can send messages from IBM Lotus Domino messaging server to a user in foreign domains by creating a test IBM Lotus Notes® user account.

Open the Registry Editor and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
Create a DWORD value named ALPAllLocalLookups and set the value to 1.
Set up Directory Assistance on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server containing directories from all other domains you want to be able to look up.
A restart is required for the registry changes to take affect.

hope this will point you in the right direction
