You can try running outlook.exe /resetfolders from the DOS prompt on that users PC. If not you can try to use MFCMAPI to correct the folder id.

This issue is caised by the Notes folder id on Exchange somehow changing and the BES no longer recognizes it, as the BES is only concerned with the default folders in Exchange.

You can also search for ConstructPIMFolder here, BlackBerry Technical Solution Center, there are artciles about using MFCMAPI to see if the folder ids are different. If you, you should be able to correct it by copying pasting the correct folder id.

But be warned, MFCMAPI when used wrong can royally screw up a mailbox.

ive had this problem in the past, and when i do activations will fail to complete cuz it can't open the folder.

originally i used to have their mailbox rebuilt but i just started disabling the pim sync for their memo folder and then reenabling it once ea is complete, although this doesnt fix the issue.

Two months ago, I saw a provocative movie on cable TV. It was called The Net, with that girl from the bus.

OK I found MFCMAPI. I opened corrupt email box and compared BINARY VALUE of PR_IPM_CONTACT_ENTRYID in Root Container with PR_ENTRYID in Top of Infromation Store. Both values are the same. Anyway all of these records there look for me very confusing. I was wondering if I should look for record relates to Free/Busy Folder?

I don't know if this is right remark but following values are different:
PR_IPM_CONTACT_ENTRYID in Root Container
and
PR_ENTRYID in Freebusy Data.
Should it be the same in both binary value?

Thank you for any help.

You are looking at the wrong id's with MFCMAPI. Seeing as this is a Memo/Notes issue you need to lookat the PR_IPM_NOTE_ENTRYID in the Root Container and the PR_ENTRYID/PR_MEMBER_ENTRYID in the Root Container/Top of Information Store/Notes directory.

If these are different you can try running outlook.exe /resetfolders to correct it. If that fails use MFCMAPI to update the id in the Notes folder. But be warned, this is at your own risk.

Just copy the id's into a txt file and label their directory so you can put them back.

The last step is to either rebuild the mailbox or create a new one.

Let us know how it goes.

The error posted above is related to PIM/Outlook Notes/BB MemoPad synchronization. It really doesn't have anything to do with your stated issue, which is related to e-mail reconciliation.

I can't post links yet, but if you already haven't done so, I'd recommend you look at KB10939 (Troubleshooting wireless email reconciliation on the BlackBerry smartphone) on the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center website...

Regarding the Memo issue. Rather than play around with MFCMAPI, an easier test is to right-click on the affected folder(s) in Outlook. If the folder can be renamed/deleted, it's not a true system folder, and the BES will not be able to synchronize with it.

If this occurs, you can rename the folder (Notes1), run Outlook with /ResetFolders, and copy the data from the renamed folder into the regenerated Notes folder in Outlook. The error message should no longer occur, and the affected user will have wireless reconciliation on the affected folder.

You are right about the issue posted above. The error for Notes has nothing to do with Email Reconciliation, just syncing between BB adn Outlook for Notes/Memopad.

Typically the Notes folder is the original but for some reason the folder id changes. Last I heard MS didn't know why this was happening. But it's the same thing if you deleted the Notes folder and created your own. When the Id changes the BES does not care as it is not the "Default" Notes folder created initially with the mailbox.

Either way, try running the outlook command to fix it, it's the simpliest solution.

MFCMAPI is good and bad at the same time. While it's great for fixing this issue, if used wrong the mailbox might be redered useless.

For email reconciliation just check the Email Reconciliation options on the BB itself. Make sure that Delete On is set to Mailbox and handheld and that Reconcile On is set to Yes.

If you are missing and of those then delete the desktop[CMIME] service book and resend it from the BES.
