I'm having an issue getting a user activated on our BES (Pro version). The only thing I can see that is different for this person is that her mailbox is on a different Exchange Server than the other users who have been successfully added to BES.

The message I received from the server is:
09/15/2008 09:02:47 (xxxxxxxx) -> 1 user(s) failed to initialize

Both Exchange Servers are part of the same Administrative Group.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might look?

Sounds like permissions to me. Seeing he is the only user on that Exchange Server you would never notice a permissions issue.

I am willing to bet that you will also see errors for that user stating User Not Started. If so, it means that the mailbox cannot be accessed.

Try running the IEMSTest utility against that users mailbox. Then double check permissions. Odds are you are missing Administer Information Store for that Exchange Server.

I think gibson's going to be spot on there, just run through the standard checks to make sure your BESAdmin account can access the mailbox

Thanks for the advice... I'll try the above and see how I make out. I assumed persmissions too, but didn't really know where to look on a 2nd Exchange Server as (previous to now) I only had experience in a 1 Exchange Server environment.

OK... running IEMSTest utility confirmed that there was a persmissions issue. I've resolved that and now IEMSTest is showing that it can access her Mailbox with no issues.

That said, there is still a red dot or something on her name in BES and it's still stuck on initializing.

Any further pointers?
