Default removing IT policy will disconnect from exchange? - 09-30-2008, 02:05 PM

I just got a new blackberry from work (curve) and it has a pretty restrictive IT policy on it (no camera, no bbm, forced password, etc.). I have seen some tutorials on ways to clear out the blackberry IT policy by setting a blank one

Howto: Remove BlackBerry’s IT Policy | BlackBerryInsight

My question is: if i do this, will it clear the sync i have with my companies exchange server? Thanks.

You will be off the BES and start over. Once you reconnect you get the IT policy back. You are just messing with your job. Get a personal device.

you cannot replace your IT policy with a blank one, and expect that one to remain. As was previously stated, the next time you activate on your BES, the restrictive policy will come back. Best to try to negotiate with your IT group for a less restrictive policy.

Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don't let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.
