Default IT Policy Issue

Please Login to Remove!

In an attempt to lock down our 100+ blackberries within our corporation, I've created a couple of test policies and deployed them to a small sample group. The two policies I've created are exactly the same except one has bluetooth enabled and the other has bluetooth disabled. Users in these sample groups (myself included) are complaining of performance issues. The blackberry will "glitch" and lockup every 5 or 10 minutes. The glitch lasts for approx. 10 - 15 seconds and then it comes out of it and functions properly. It is definitely annoying to say the least. A couple of things worth noting: 1. Our normal policy that we deploy to the rest of the corporation functions flawlessly. 2. It appears, everytime the blackberry locks up, a new policy is pushed down to the blackberry. 3. Under the IT Admin properties section of the BlackBerry manager, I have the interval set at "0". 4. The issue occurs on multiple types of blackberries (7750 and 7250). 5. BES is Domino 4.0 sp1.

I've spoken with RIM and they say I need to upgrade to SP2. Does anyone else agree with this diagnosis? Has anyone ran into this, or a similar problem where the it policy continuously updates every 5 minutes or so? Are there any known implications to a sp2 upgrade? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance......

I think RIM is right, I remember reading a SDR about the policy constantly being sent unless you applied this fix.

The only thing I forgot to add is that we're in a R5 domino environment. Thus, when you add SP2 you lose the ability to synchronize read/unread marks to the handheld.

Problem has been fixed by applying SP1 HF3.
