Default Accessing Sharepoint thru MDS

Please Login to Remove!

BES 4.01 for GW. We want to be able to access an internal Sharepoint site that uses AD for authentication. But the BB browser never lets me enter login credentials. Any way to access a Sharepoint site from the BB?

altho i don't personally think SharePoint would look halfway decent on a blackberry w/o the above solution, you could most likely use the full FQDN of the server (i'm assuming you're only using the hostname) and it should then prompt you for the login credentials.

Default Berrypoint

I've been playing with this over the past few days (whole reason for joining this forum). I've got it to where we can view list data - via authentication through BES - but that's it. It's not pretty - but certainly functional as a reference...

Default BES Config for Sharepoint access

Hi,

Can you provide more details on how you got the authentication prompt for BES 4.0 and SharePoint? We had it with BES 3.7, but on the BES 4.0 it has gone.

Thanks in advance.

Default Sharepoint login

If you set your IIS security settings to allow anonymous this works, although then normal users are not forced to authenticate and have to login by clicking on a button each time they surf there. This is a trade off between security (when isn't it ) and they may initially lose some functionality (eg access to lists) unless the login

I tried downloading the app mentioned above and my firewall had kittens with the intrusion dectection system telling me it contained Malware. Don't mean to hang it on the program but if my firewall doesn't like it, then I aint downloading it.

Since IIS authentication works based on hostname only resolution (e.g. - http://spserver/sharepoint), then if you put the fully-qualified domain name (e.g. - http://spserver.domain.com/sharepoint), you should be prompted for a login/password. This can be put into your MDS browser and you should be prompted there, as well. This should remove the need to configure anonymous access.
