Default Adding an additional BES server

Please Login to Remove!

I can not seem to find a doc or anything that covers this.

Currently we have 1 BES on a VM. We want to add a 2nd BES on a physical box, it will have it's own SRP. I am not interested in doing a knife-edge cut over as this is for addtional capacity and not to replace the existing BES.

From my understanding all i need to do is install BES on the 2nd sever (which i have already done, exact same version and MR) and then using blackberry server configuration change the DB to the remote SQL DB that our current production BES is using. Then the 2 servers will show up in blackberry manager. Is that correct? Is there anything else i should know? Will joining the additional BES to the SQL database cause the current BES to hiccup? Can someone point me to a RIM document so that i have something to show our change managment team when i submit this for approval?

Thanks
Jeff

Should be as easy as phased migration, except you will be keeping the old server.

Will simply redirecting the new BES to the exisiting DB cause the current BES to drop offline or anything? I can not take an outage so i need to know what to expect and what not to expect?

There was no mention of it.

You are just adding a BES to the database and it should not do anything but put a small load on the SQL server while bringing it up.

Kinda like using remote BB manager, but bringing up a BES on it.
