Default Sent items wireless synching as new messages? [BES 4.0 SP2 / Domino]

Please Login to Remove!

One of our users is experiencing an issue where the Sent Items from Lotus Notes are synching wirelessly to the 7290 device as new unread messages. Anybody else seeing this?

What version of Domino are you running? I believe SP2 will not maintain unread marker properly unless you are running ND6 and using the ND6.5 or later mail template.

We are running 6.04, and we have already worked through the unread issues such that it appears to be working correctly for everyone else. It will also work for this user, but occasionally he will see this crop up.

I've never seen this aside from the standard known unread issue. But nothing specific to sent items. Did you check the users filters to see if he/she is somehow filtering on items sent from themselves and making them level 1 messages or something?

Was also thinking that maybe he's doing a send and save. And it's showing up as a new message in that folder? If so maybe setting the 'Hide Filed Messages' to Yes would help?

Just a note on this, we upgraded our BES to 4.02 (Domino) and noticed there is a bug with this. All devices had sent mail redirection turned on by default after the upgrading. We had to do the following:

Messages => (wheel)Options => Email settings => (wheel)Folder Redirection =>
[expand mail box]
Remove the tick in sent items =>
Click back and save

Messages => (wheel)Options => Email settings => (wheel)Folder Redirection =>
[expand mail box]
Add the tick in sent items =>
Click back and save

Messages => (wheel)Options => Email settings => (wheel)Folder Redirection =>
[expand mail box]
Remove the tick in sent items =>
Click back and save

Only then did Lotus Notes sent mail redirection stop.
