Exclamation Database error in OpenDB

Please Login to Remove!

Is anyone else getting the following errors with their BES server:

10/20/2005 04:09:57 (EFFF27F0) -> Database error in OpenDB (err=0x80004005, native err=0) - Timeout expired

10/20/2005 04:09:57 (EFFF27E5) -> OpenDB: COM Error (80004005): Unspecified error.

10/20/2005 04:09:57 (0000280B) -> EventID:0000280bLocal machine time is out of sync with domain controller time.

10/20/2005 04:09:57 (0000280D) -> EventID:0000280dRestarted Windows Time service to sync local time with domain controller time.

We have the BES alerting turned on and we get this set of emails anywhere from 1 to 5 times a day, for easily over a year now. We received these error since 3.6 and we've had BES installed on 3 different hardware plateforms.

I do have an open case with RIM, but I'm wondering about scope, is anyone else getting these, and by off chance, did you have a resolution? I did find we had a week of peace and quiet when we put Windows 2003 SP1 on, but then we applied the MS Sept Security hotfixes and now we are getting the errors again.

And there is nothing wrong with the time service, the time is actually never out. All log entries are written as they happen, and they are all sequential.

Your event logs indicate that BES server is out of sync with the NTP server (domain controller). Do a query on your W32tm configuration and see which server it's pointing to get it's time. You also mentioned that you recently applied an MS security fix. Check to see if your UDP port 123 is still open for time synchronization traffic.
As a first the time on your dc the same as the BES?
