Default Problems with activating Device and account

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

We have a central blackberry server in the Netherlands. One of our users in Signapore, with a mailbox in the Netherlands, is not able to read any messages with his device. The status of the user on the BES server is still "initializing" and when he is trying to activate his device, he gets an error message stating that it is failing. Other users on the same BES server don't have any problems.

In the event log of the server I have found the following errors:
OpenDatabase() failed for <user>

{mailaddress} MAPIMailbox::Construct - CreateMsgOnDeviceSearchFolder (0x00000000) failed.

{mailaddress} MAPIMailbox::CreateMsgOnDeviceSearchFolder - CreateFolder (0x80004005) failed.

User <Username> not started

Anyone with an idea?

Thanx

See ya

Arjen

Off the top of my head I would say look at first creating a new MAPI profile on his machineand if that doesn't work remove the user from the BES, run DBClean on his workstation and then re-add him.

I have already removed the user from the BES server and re-added him.
Still no solution.

The user is able to receive any mails to his handheld when the handheld is connected to the desktop...

Did you run DBClean on his workstation?
Maybe have him delete the service books on his handheld and activate after this.

No I didn't.

As a complete newbie I haven't heard from this tool until now. Found it and downloaded it, but I will not offer this to the user until he's back from his trip, as redirection works when his notebook is running with the redirection service running. I will contact him and try it within 2 weeks.

Thanx..
