I am trying to install BES on Windows Server 2003 Standard x86 and am getting MAPI subsystem initialization error.

Exchange 2007 SP1 (Exchange Management Console shows Version: 08.01.0336.000) is installed on Windows SBS 2008 x64. All updates have been installed, and the system is up to date. Mapi32.dll file version is 1.0.2536.0 and product version is 6.0.6000.16386.

I installed Exhcange Management Tools (32-bit) on Win 2003 Std and applied all updates. Exchange Management Console shows Version: 08.01.0340.000. Mapi32.dll file version is 6.5.6944.0 and product version is 6.5.

Both Mapi32.dll files are located in Windows\System32.

The only warning I get at the beginning of the installation is that CDO.dll is not found. However, I've read that you can register it after the installation is finished.

Does anybody know what else I can do to resolve the issue?

I still get the same error after installing Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1. MAPI subsystem cannot be intialized. Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestions! I did exactly what you said. I also registered CDO.dll using this command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin\cdo.dll"
