Default BES Eventlog

Please Login to Remove!

Hi -
I have a question regarding the BES eventlog;

we have some de-activated users and this generates a LOT of the following informational messages:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: BlackBerry Messaging Agent <bes-server> Agent 2
Event Category: None
Event ID: 50079
Date: 2/18/2009
Time: 12:25:19 PM
User: N/A
Computer: <computername>
Description:
1 user(s) failed to initialize

I know those users are (temp) deactivated, and I want to get rid of the eventlog entries because they fill up our application log. However I changed the eventlog logging level on 2 places: registry and Blackberry server Configuration. However: although all logging is set to "2" (warning and errors) I still receive these Informational messages.

Any idea where to turn them off?

Thanks,
CWI

Have you restarted BES since changing the logging levels?

yes, last week the BES was restarted due to upgrading to SP6, and these messages are logged for a loooooooooong time already (way before the upgrade)

I did increase the logging level from 2 to 1 yesterday, just to test if it would change anything (which it didn't), but still it doesn't explain why these informational messages are being logged (what is this, a 4 or a 5?)

remove the deactivated users then or deal with the long huge big enourmous wasteful logs.

I know removing the users is the most obvious thing to do but because of internal request procedures we cannot simply remove them (yes, who doesn't love complex administrations).

but anyway I don't understand why the Messaging Agent keeps logging all these informational events, while I have specifically setup that it should log only warnings and errors. Maybe a bug or am I looking on the wrong places?
