Question SQL Error with BES 4.0 with Domino 6.5.1

Please Login to Remove!

I am testing BES 4.0 with Domino. I am getting this Error when I launch Domino: Unable to open BESMgmt database: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.[SqlState 08001][ODBCDatabase::Connect]Unable to connect to BESMgmt

Any help would be really appreciate it. I have been trying to fix this issue for 2 days now. I have spent 3 hours with RIM today with no luck.

Thank you.

did you enable TCP/IP for the SQL connection? i've never even seen it attempt a connection through Named Pipes.

Assuming everything (Domino and SQL) is working fine and your using SQL authentication but you cannot connect to the SQL server try this.

On the BES check for these keys:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database\Login (Value should be the SQL login username)

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database\Password (Value should be the SQL login password)

I originally had this problem upgrading to BES 4.0 I assumed they fixed it by now.

Default Set SQL Server to use "Mixed Mode"

If you have initially used "Windows Trusted" authentication and then switched to "SQL authentication", set your SQL server to use mixed mode. For more details, go to www.blackberry.com/support and search for mixed mode, there is a KB article on it...

Good luck - null_name

Thank you all very much.
I have tried the MIX Mode. and the new Keys in the Registry
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database\Login (Value should be the SQL login username)

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database\Password (Value should be the SQL login password)

Now Everything is working great.
