Hi,

A BB was stolen last night from on of our users. I have used the "Erase Data and Disable Handheld" option to disable the handheld and erase the data.

Is the handheld now useless? Is the handheld registered stolen now in RIM's system? Or should I still ask T-Mobile to disable the handheld by the pin and/or imei?

Hey! I just got a BB for sale... no cables or nothing... something is wrong with the OS... you may have to reinstall it... ;)

Actually... I would call TMo to cancel the line as it was stolen. Wait for a few weeks to see if it mysteriously re-appears, and if it doesn't... hound TMo to blacklist the IMEI... they can do it, it's just like pulling teeth to get it done.

If you have sent a kill handheld, the data is gone as long as the phone has been turned on. Send a kill once every few days until you are sick of doing it.

Don't forget to inform your provider and let them block the SIM, you don't want to pay for a stolen device every month....

Kind of crazy that anyone would steal a blackberry.
They're next to impossible to unlock, and half of them don't have the phone features on.
My bet is: BlackBerry and Urinal.
Call the plumber...
