Default DR Knife Edge Setup Help

Please Login to Remove!

Alright I think I'm going crazy.

Basically we have a prod BES environment and at a seperate location I have clones of the BES environment in the classic duplicate configuration with all services disabled.

Today I added a new BES server for 2009 growth and was setting up the DR clone and it added a MDS_CD instance to the DB. My other BES did not do this and I want to confirm if this is correct or not? I share the same DB as DR is setup in the event I have a PROD hardware issue and I can bring the DR box online quickly with no changes to users.

I'm installing with 4.1.6 full and have pulled it all over and reinstalled and it keeps doing the same thing adding the MDS_CS instance (the number going up each time).

I was on with T-Support for almost 2 hours and it was useless and they weren't much help at all.

Anyone with input?

Thanks!

Default

mds_cs is tied to the NETBIOS name of the server. when you install a new server you get a new mds_cs instance. If you want it to be the same, the HOSTNAME / NETBIOS name of the server needs to be the same
