Default Updating 8900's from BES

Hi,

I am running BES 4.1.6 Bundle 30.

Is it possible to update my 8900 curves from BES? I have done one following the OS upgrade post in "General 8900 Series Discussion".

I did read somewhere that its not possible, but I find that really hard to believe!

Can anyone clarify this either way?

Edit: I just thought I would add that I am doing this as the battery life on the 8900 is poor to say the least! I have been reading loads of threads on here with different things to try. One of which being the latest OS on the phone.

It would be really good to know this anyway though

If your carrier supports OTASL then the BES can.

Verizon/Storm supported
Vodaphone/Fe devices supported.

Thats it for now, unless anyone has an update on it.

Oh right. I am Orange UK.

Does this work via the Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update?

If so then I tested this and it does not work. Is that not a "Non-Enterprise" upgrade?

Because there's a policy to prevent non-enterprise upgrade's which I assumed meant that you could send out updates from BES?

nextel says our 8350i's should be able to do OTASL but I haven't tried it

As long as you don't do it over iDEN. That is currently not supported.
