Default On the BES is there a way to force BB users to use our company internet connection?

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so here is the problem. I am new to being a BES Admin and I am wanting to stop BB users from being able to visit sites that our Web8e6 webfilter has blocked. Right now our BB users can access any websites they want using the "Browse" icon. Is there a way to make the BB's use our company connection and not the AT&T connection.

BES 4.1.5

I just read that document, but it seems to explain how to disable the broswer. My understanding is that he wants to run the internet access on the blcakberry through the same filter? So they still have internet access, but filtered access.

Sherrera you are correct. From what I have been told, if I make it to where The BlackBerry can only use the BlackBerry Browser it will use the same connection the BES Server uses for internet access. It looks like the Document provided show how to do that. *Fingers Crossed* I will be trying this next week and I will let you all know how it goes.

I have a similer question, I have about 150 blackberries on a BES, I have implimented the pull rules to block sites from the users (ie myspace, facebook, playboy) it has worked fine on all the blackberrys except one. that one blackberry is getting blocked from cnn, and the LA times. nowhere on my bes have I entered those web addresses. Other people can access those sites, but this one can't. The users settings on the Bes are the same as everyone else's. any thoughts?

Re: it has worked fine on all the blackberrys except one.

Is the model the same as all the others?
Is the error 403 forbidden?

Does using a WIFI connection circumvent the browsing rules in BES? Or does it not matter if you are using the 2G/3G cellular connection or Wifi all web traffic is filtered?

All depends on how the BES is set up. If it is set to have all traffice go through your companies proxy, you are knot going to be able to get around it it with WiFi.
