Default GroupWise BES and calendar changes not syncing.

Please Login to Remove!

Using the GroupWise BES 4.0 SP2...

I am having an issue with calendar changes not syncing. That is, I can create a new posted event on my GroupWise calendar and have it push out to the BlackBerry.. However, if I later move the appointment to a different start/end time via the GW Client, this change does not sync to the device.

Anyone else see this?

Thanks.

Cool

How far out are you moving it? If it's outside 365 days it won't get picked up until it's in that range.

If it's within range and it doesn't get picked up immediately it should get picked up on the 'full reconcile' that happens once a day. Try waiting until the next morning and see if it's there.

The new times were reflected the next morning. Thanks!

I haven't found it in the docs, so I was wondering if there was a comprehensive list of all these sync cycles and what items are covered by them? i.e. which things go out immediately vs. the regular every 20 minutes reconcile vs. the full reconcile that occurs once a day?

Sometimes simply rebooting our BES server clears up this problem for us.

That's a great idea. Reboot the box if it isn't doing what you think it should do.

As posted earlier, calendar reconcile occurs for all users over night. It seems that for some reason, changes to an appointment aren't picked up during normal mailbox scanning, and I suspect it has to do with how GW handles the changes. Its sorta invisible to the BES. So the BES has a nightly full reconcile processes built in to compensate.

A reboot might just be triggering these processes earlier than scheduled, but I bet the message delays hurt.

Yeah it might sound silly, but it has. We've had issues where users were getting no calendar, double/triplicate or more messages coming in and so forth. Restarting services, checking logs showed nothing. A reboot cleared it up.

I might have to try that. I am having trouble with someone changing an appointment that was scheduled in say, the morning. And they push it back to that afternoon. Well it's not updated correctly on the blackberry.
