Default Wired EA but no old messages

Please Login to Remove!

Howdy!

i'm trying to do a wired activation for the first time using a test account but I'm having a bit of an issue...

I tether the device, then start desktop manager, make sure i've got the right profile selected, then go to Email Settings, manual encryption key, then I hit "Generate..." and do the hokey-pokey with my mouse, and then the device activates (nice and fast ).

Now I can send and receive but I only see new emails, nothing from before I activated....

I just got another email this morning on this account, so what might I be doing wrong? Thanks!

Is the email on the server still or just the email client?

On the BES there is an option prepopulation for 7-14 days or up to 750 items.
Did you change it to a lesser value?

Other thought is maybe with DM EA you might have to manual sync them.
Sorry, I never use DM for EA.

Yeah we have prepop set to the highest and longest we can. I'm trying to figure out how to force some kind of manual sync.... kind of a pain, this. I'll post if I can figure it out.

You might need to remove the user from the BES, wipe the BB and start again (the wipe may not be required but I know the remove is). If the EA wasn't on a new clean user and device, I don't think pre-pop applies. Search this forum as there are a few threads on when pre-pop won't apply.

He said the wired was first time. Doesn't mean the BB wasn't already wirelessly activated before trying this.

We should wait for OP to verify this.

Recreated the account and I'm business... It's not exactly convenient to create a new profile with someone's email on my desktop, but it beats struggling all day with a wireless activation that doesn't want to happen...

You can now prepopulate previously received messages onto a BlackBerry device when you re-activate the same BlackBerry device wirelessly for a user.

Procedure:

1. In the Registry Editor, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry
Enterprise Server\Agents\.
2. Create a new DWORD value named ForceMsgPrepopOnActivation.
3. Set the value to 1 to turn this on.
