Default Handheld Password & IT Policy

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone forced handheld passwords from the BES and not have the user disable it themselves from the handheld?

If I set a handheld's password from the server, the user can go and turn it off.

To disable the user from turning off the password, is this done via IT Policy?

If so, does anyone have an 'idiots guide' to working with the IT Policy setup?

I would like to force passwords to all my user's hand helds with a 1 hour time out and also force a standard background to them, if possible.

Thanks!

Yes, forcing passwords is done via IT Policy. Can't remember the exact key, but will let you know asap. Backgrounds, I don't think there is provision for that, but worth a look-see. Will check that too.

In the Device-Only Items list, there is a "Password Required" option which you can set.

IF you access the BES and go to the Global Properties/IT Policies/Device-Only Items/ you can set the following settings: Password Required-true User can disable-False

For the time out time try Global Properties/IT Policies/Password Policy Group/
and set the following setting: Set Password Time out

I never posted back, but I have this working, and it is great. My HIPAA officer loves me again.
