Default Wireless Sync Issue on 7520

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Am running BES 4.0, fully patched, MS Exchange 2K3, Outlook 2k, and Nextel BB 7520's. I have one user out of 9 who is experiencing an issue I cannot duplicate or remedy.

The problem is that when the user deletes a message from their Exchange account, the message is not deleted from the BB, even on a hard reconcile. Conversely, when messages are deleted from the BB, they go away in Exchange, and send/receive from BB works fine.

All wireless sync options are turned on in BES, and the user's device is set to Delete On Mailbox and Handheld, Wireless Reconcile On, and On Conflicts Handheld Wins.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I should look at or for?

Thanks & Ciao

How is the user deleting the emails? If they are doing a SHIFT + DEL on a mail it doesn't go into the Deleted items and therefore won't reconcile properly. The mail needs to be in the Recycle Bin for the BES to be able to reconcile properly.

Default Not Sure

Dustbin30,

Thanks for the reply. I don't think the user is doing a shift+del, but will check & post back.

Have you tried setting it to On Conflicts Mailbox wins?

Default Nope

baucomjd,

Haven't tried that and I don't think that it would matter. I'm not changing the item, only deleting it, so I don't imagine any conflicts are occurring. And, as far as I know, that setting only comes into play when things go out of sync. I've got my own device set to handheld wins and synchronization is very fast (we're using Nextel devices and have a Nextel repeater installed in the building) with no problems.

However, I'll give that a shot and see what turns up.

Thanks for the response & Ciao
