Ok so my exchange db crashed over the weekend and i rebuilt the exchange DB.

Well once i finished rebuilding the exchange db and got email working agian. all 200 of my blackberry users did not get emails back on there blackberry.

so i contacted all of them 1 by one to bet there blackberry activated again. I cannot belive that there is no like mass activation thing within the blackberry ent software.

Below is the error that the event log showed for EVERY user after mail was restored.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BlackBerry Dispatcher ABBB
Event Category: None
Event ID: 20609
Date: 2/26/2009
Time: 8:04:26 AM
User: N/A
Computer: ABBB
Description:
{John Doe} CompressEncrypt() failed - no encryption key or the key is not allowed.

Even thouh my issue is fixed now. how could i have done this differrent are without contacting all 200 hundred users. I mean i only have 200 users could you imaginge a construction company with maybe 1k are 2k users. Would they have to contact all there users like i did. I don't believe are think so...

Ideas/Feedback?

i have version 4.1.4.12 with mssql and exchange 2003 standard.

and what you replied is exactly what i did. I selected all my users, right clicked and told the BB server to email GENREARATE AND EMAIL ACTIVATION PASSWORD. But 80% of my blackberry users DO NOT EVER loggin to outlook. so they never know they got a email on how to activate and the ones that do read the email still call me b/c they have no idea how to follow the directions in email. because some have diffecrnt themes and the icons are a little different.

you could set pass manually and PIN message to all next time.

I use this custom activation message

1) On your BlackBerry device make sure wireless is turned on.
2) Use one of the following methods to get to the activation screen:

OR

$p

4) Click on trackball and click on activate.

NOTE *** this password will expire in $x hours or after activation completes***
