Default OS Version in Registry?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know if there is an entry in the registry that stores the version of a device via the desktop manager software. I know if you go to help and then about desktop manager you can view this information. I am looking to do some inventory via Landesk on my devices because I have aprox. 176 users that do not show a version in the wonderfull Blackberry Manager. Any Suggestions??

I would think that it pulls this from the handheld via desktop application once connected. I think the easiest thing to do would be to request them to send an email from the handheld to you with the word 'myver' (w/o the ' '). This is an autotext shortcut that will actually format it back to '7100/4.0.2' for example.

Default Good Idea

Thanks for the feedback. I considerd that but I am aiming at as less user intervention as possible. Do you know of a fix for the Blackberry Manager that will resolve this issue? I am running version 4.0.0.18...I guess my next step would be to try and build a view from our SQL database if that information is correct.

BlackBerry Manager and Handheld Configuration Tool reflect what is in the database - nothing more. If the information is not there, then your users are either not running OS 4.0+, they have not completed an Enterprise Activation, or they have Wireless PIM and handheld management disabled (on the BES).
