Default C++ error when trying to create/edit software configurations.

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so I was working on BES on Friday with no problems. Setting up and testing deploying apps etc.

I came in this morning, when i try and create a new software configuration I get a C++ runtime error with bbmgrw32.exe. In the event log I get the following:
Code:
Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Application Error
Event Category:	(100)
Event ID:	1000
Date: 09/03/2009

Nothing has changed over the weekend, no updates or anything.

Also if I try and edit an existing policy i get the error:
Code:
System Error
Unknown Exception caught at
C:\ABS10\Components\Manager\4.1.6\LocalBuild\enterprise\MAnager\UI\win\server\codebase\main\hhcfgframe.cpp, line 228 -- details in log
Now i tried looking for said log but dont know where it is.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I did reboot the server this morning and when it came back up it hung on "Applying Computer Settings", it did this a couple of times so I booted into safemode, looked through event log which showed nothing relating to it. I rebooted again. I also rebooted since as I have done a couple of needed windows updates to try and fix this and it did the same thing but after another hard reboot it came back up....

I HATE doing hard reboots but had no choice.... :|

Does anyone have any idea for this? It is really urgent! The only info I could find online was that the C++ errors are because .NET 1.1 is not installed or because 2.0 and/or 3.0 are installed. Even though that said the problem was when you open the Manager which is not the case for me.

1.1 is installed and has been since I first setup the server. 2 and 3 are also installed and again both have been since i first built the machine. I still removed everything for the sake of testing and reinstalled just 1.1 SP1 which made no difference.

I have also tried to install the Blackberry Manager only another machine for the time being so I can do what I need to but that is getting the same error.

I am running 4.1.6 in an Exchange env. I really need to get his working as I need to get some phone recording software deployed tomorrow!!...

Ok well in case anyone is interested or has the problem in future I resolved the issue.

It was caused by a corrupt file in ..\Shared\Applications directory. Once I removed it and reindex'ed the problem was resolved.

RIM, please improve your error messages! oh and also your truly dreadful documentation!!
