Installing Blackberry manager on a computer other than BES
 

Hi,

Is it possible to install the BES Blackberry Manager on a computer other than the actual BES server to allow remote administration without connecting to the BES server?

Totally, it's a feature of 4.1 . If you have 4.1, just run the install on the remote machine and just choose the BlackBerry Manager option. Point it at your server and viola.

Nice one. I thought you must be able to do it, I just didnt know what installer to use or if it was possible.

You haven't said Domino or Exchange so in case it's Domino and your client is v8

Maybe this will help too. It's written for WIN2K, but still applies and works rather well.

I am in an exchange env so that was fine :)

Unforunately, it doesn't work on Windows Vista. Or it didn't when I moved to Vista. I'd be happy thats changed by now.

RBBM on vista possible, but not supported.

So this is not an option for version 4.0?

i have 4.0 installs with 4.1 upgrades... how ould this differ?

BB Manager still not working for me on Vista. Do I get Blackberry-cred for going back to XP purely because BB manager wouldn't work?
