Default How much data used by email

I am curious if there is a way to get an idea on how much data is used by BES email for standard text for the average user. I am travelling to India and am considering taking my BB, but at $6MB it can get pricy. I won't be downloading attachments or sending pictures, just reading and sending text. Is there any way to determine a general amount? My email will be way down, but I normally get around 2000 emails a month. I know this is a long shot, but just trying to figure out if I can ballpark it somehow..

I average 300k a day, with about the same volume of email.

I should also add, when others have gone halfway round the world, I've told them to shut the phone off except when you get up and before you go to bed. This not only saves on charges, but since the time zones are totally different, it's unlikely anything becomes time sensitive.
