Default IT Policy setting for Email Reconciliation

Please Login to Remove!

OK, I've been reading and looking and looking and reading and I'm sure that I've either missed something along the way, or the feature I'm looking for simply does not exist.

Can I set (at the server level either via policy or server/global setting) the flag so that the messages deleted from the hand held are also deleted from the mailbox in Exchange.

I know I can manually define this within the Messaging application (on the handheld), but my users are rarely in the office, and I would prefer to update this setting remotely.

We're using:
Device: World Edition 8830
Software: BlackBerry Professional Software Version: 4.1.4.2

Thanks,
joey

Not sure if this is what your asking for or not. I am using the 8830 with OS 4.5.

If you go to any e-mail message on the 8830, press the home key, go to Options then to Email Reconciliation, there are 3 different options for Delete ON: Prompt, Handheld or Mailbox & Handheld. I set mine to prompt which allows me to delete just on the handheld or handheld & mailbox.

If this isn't what your looking for then I misunderstood your question.

Jimmy

Jimmy, I think this is what he's looking for, but he's looking to be able to set this from the BES.

The answer sadly is AFAIK no, it can't be set by policy.

This would be great, every user that comes through we set certain settings for. Why has this type of control not been allowed on the BES? I believe that any setting that can be made on the handheld should have a corresponding setting from the IT Policy level.

I disagree. You'll be in IT Policy Hades very quickly with having to create different Policies for different users with every little setting.

IMO it's better to let the user know how to set it on their device and let them control it.
