My BES database is on a full version of SQL 2000 server. Is it possible to use OSQL command line to backup the database? I know I can use Enterprise Manager to do a backup, but since I'm not the owner of the SQL server, I don't want to make any change on Enterprise Manager. Thanks

I was using a scheduled script to backup and FTP but since this was pointed out I have installed it instead.

It just works, can't say anymore. Only caveat is that it has to be installed on the SQL server itself. Well the current version does anyway, the remote bit is currently being worked on.

I'm a little surprised that the "owner" of the SQL Server doesn't have a backup solution though.

Yeah definitly speak to your dba coz he should be backing up the db, not you. If he isn't doing it daily I would want to move my db somewhere else :->. And I can also vouch for that app, threw my scripts out a few weeks ago and never looked back .
