When you delete a user from BES you get asked if you want to remove BlackBerry info from the mail system also. That removes the hidden stuff from the user's mailbox.
I have had some take over an hour but I couldn't determine if it was network load (to Exchange) or BES db corruption (had a bit of that but fixed now). If I have any more slow deletions and remember, I will post the info as i should be able to say for sure that they are down to network load/connectivity rather than db issues. For me, anything around an hour is acceptable on my system, as my AD replication can take around an hour anyway.
