Ok, this is a weird issue and I'm not sure if it's a BB issue or an Outlook issue.
I've got a user we'll call Jean Smith. On Tuesday of last week, Jean's name got changed in Active Directory to Jean Connors. Someone screwed up and changed it - she didn't request it. On Wednesday her name was changed back to Jean Smith.
Jean called yesterday and said her BlackBerry emails were still showing as Jean Connors to the recipients. And if she sent herself an email from her BlackBerry, it would show Jean Connors in Outlook (but not on the BB).
Her device has been wiped and she has been removed/readded on the BES. The BES sees her as Jean Smith, and her Outlook Properties do not show Connors anywhere.
I talked with her this morning and she sent me an email from her BB, and it shows Jean Smith to me in Outlook, but when she sends to herself, still shows Jean Connors (in Outlook).
I checked (read: remoted into her PC) her Outlook contacts and there is no trace of a 'Connors' in there anywhere. I also had her check her BB Address Book (using the Search icon) for a Connors - nothing.
I *think* this is an Outlook issue, but it only happens when she sends email from her BlackBerry - and only to the users that she corresponded with while her name was incorrect.
It almost sounds like Outlook somehow cached the name and associated it with her email adddress, but when I composed an email in her Outlook and started typing 'Jean', I only saw Smith, not Connors.
Any thoughts. This is very strange....
No longer a BES Admin, but it was fun while it lasted!
