I have been trying to install BES on an XP workstation. I accept the licenses, it gets to where it checks all the prerequisites, says they are fine, hit next and it asks for the login/password. When I hit next it tells me to enter a valid password. I have created the besadmin account. I have added it to the local log on and log on as a service. I have added it to exchange server delegation, and given the account send as and recieve as permissions. I have also installed the smtpsvc on the xp box, as well as the exchange admin tools. MDAC is at version 2.8 sp1. The login name that it comes up with is grayed out, but is domainname\beasdmin user account. I have verified the password, and went so far as to set a simple password, with same results. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

were you logged in as BESAdmin when you installed it?

not a good idea to install bes onto an xp machine,

A classic case of admin not reading the manuals prior starting installing BES...

It can be done, it does knot install real easy.

After around 10 users it starts to fail due to network limits in XP since it is knot a server OS.

Thanks for everyone's response. I was logged in as BESadmin at time of installation attempt. "NoName", I did read the manual, but obviously I must be missing some little piece, (like the eternal math equation that you continue to do wrong each time, because you have a bracket in the wrong place.) If you happen to know the key I am missing, I would be much obliged. The system will only be used for 4 phones.
