We are using a BES with Blackberry Manager 4.1. Data goes to the BES from Exchange 2007 with users using Outlook 2003. The users have Blackberry 8330s. My question concerns calendar entries. I have one user who has calendar entries in Outlook going backward from the current date for 1 year and forward from the current date for 1 year. They exist in his Outlook calendar. However, these older events are not sync'ing to the blackberry. I am not positive what the oldest date sync'd to the Blackberry is, but I can get that information if necessary. I'm troubleshooting this for the Blackberry user in question.

My question is if there is some setting within the Blackberry Manager software on our BES that controls which calendar events are synchronized to the device. I've looked, but haven't found anything yet. I know it's possible to do a RSET on the device, but I don't want to have to do this unless I have to. I would love to discover that there is a good reason why the older events are not sync'ing to the device and just make the adjustment .... in a perfect world, right???

I would appreciate any help. I have looked through the FAQ's, but found few posts with this exact situation. Forgive me if I've overlooked the obvious.

By default, wireless Calendar sync only future items starting from the date when the device is activated. Past events have already occurred, why the need to look back?

Thanks for the reply. My blackberry users are attorneys who often have a desire to view past calendar events. Is it possible to override this setting? Is this a change that would be made on the device or could I change it from Blackberry Manager on the BES??

I've not seen a setting on BES to allow this.

Just a nudge to anyone out there who may have a clue how I can enable older calendar items to sync to the blackberry. It seems to be sync'ing items no older than 60 days by default.

If there's no option to do this on the BES, is there some way to change the setting on the phone itself??

There is a solution on Blackberry's forums - try searching there

On your BB device, in Calendar options, in the "Keep appointments" field, you can choose from

15 days
30 days
60 days
90 days
Forever

This is on the BB 9000. I don't know if this option exists on other models.
