Default BES selective redirection--HELP!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Help.... I am running BES for 8 users. One user does not want his email sent to his 8830, but wants his contact and calendar to redirect both ways. Please direct me how to do this. I turned off the messaging redirection, but it causes any updates that are put into the PC not to redirect.... HELP

You could try blocking enterprise messages.

On the handheld, go to Options > Security Options > Firewall, and place a check next to enterprise email.

What version BES? What mail platform? What device model/OS?

BES version? 4.1? Service pack?

I assume the 8830 is running OS 4.2. You can find this in Options > About.

I believe that firewall option is on devices running OS 4.5 and higher. I am not sure which BES service pack is needed.

I just checked a user of mine and she's running an 8830 with OS 4.2 and does not have the option either.

I'm running BES 4.1.6 for GroupWise.

No, you would need to upgrade the handheld to OS 4.5 for the suggestion I offered. There may be other suggestions as well.

I'd recommend just setting the default filter to not forward:

Messages->Options->Email Filters. Set "If no filters apply, send email to handheld" to No.

Easier yet:

Messages Folder
Options
Email Settings
Set "Send Email To Handheld" to NO
