Default hosted exchange?

Please Login to Remove!

I work for a small ISP that hosts a few websites. I have a client that uses a POP email server (mine) as part of his hosting. He uses Eudora and his BBerry Bold to check email. He would like for folders he creates in Eudora to show up on his BBerry. I have heard that maybe a hosted exchange setup might work for him, but I'm not sure. Do you guys know the exact answer? He's really pretty fond of Eudora and not Outlook, and would like to stay with Eudora if he can.

You will need to find a Exchange Host that allows for setting up a domain as non-authorative if you plan to keep mailboxes on the POP server you host and also wit the host. As for Eudora, I am not sure.
Using a BlackBerry 8800 with as my BES.

Default Exchange Hosting - via Split domain

Yes, you would be able to perform the necessary task for your client by configuring Exchange account with a different domain and pointing the MX records to the exchange server.

Once you have set the MX record go ahead and set the forwarding of the email account with POP domain to the email account of Exchange domain.

This way the mails wont get lost and you could also set the reply to address in Exchange by which the domain which is added in Exchange server wont be displayed.

Then using the exchange your client could configure BB and get all the tasks, calender and contacts updated.
